Twitter real-time upgrade."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had a list of items we wanted improved and added to the justSignal Twitter real-time widget. And since I have no ability to procrastinate we are launching those changes over the weekend. Here is a rundown of the changes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Allow for variable length hash tags to be inserted in the tweets (used to be fixed at 6 characters).<\/li>\n<li>@names are now links.<\/li>\n<li>Added HTML elements for easier customization via CSS.<\/li>\n<li>Delete old tweets when there are more than 350 in the widget.<\/li>\n<li>Added date on tweet time.<\/li>\n<li>Added &#8220;logged in as&#8221; and a Logout button.<\/li>\n<li>Added the ability to re-tweet directly from the tweet (no copy and paste, just click on RT).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Re-Tweets are a big deal. So is the capping of the number of tweets in the widget (prevents memory issues). I&#8217;m also pretty happy about the improved HTML which will allow you to customize nearly every aspect of the widget via CSS (thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/strebel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Strebel<\/a> for his guidance here).<\/p>\n<p>For those of you who need to see it now&#8230; here is a screen shot of the base widget (not customized).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_356\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-356\" style=\"width: 436px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-356\" title=\"widget_v11\" src=\"http:\/\/briantroy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/widget_v11.png\" alt=\"justSignal Twitter real-time Widget\" width=\"436\" height=\"470\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-356\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">justSignal Twitter real-time Widget<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We still have much, much more up our sleeve(s)&#8230; so stay tuned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We had a list of items we wanted improved and added to the justSignal Twitter real-time widget.
